OUR COMMITMENT TO MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT) COMPLIANCE

Monarch Sober Homes is fully compliant with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) guidelines set forth by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), specifically aligning with the requirements of SB 184 (Health and Safety Code Sections 11832.9 and 11834.28).

This means we actively support residents who are prescribed FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, such as buprenorphine (e.g., Suboxone) and naltrexone. Our commitment entails:

Medicated Assistance Treatment & Substance Abuse Disorder | California

Non-Discrimination:
We do not deny admission to individuals based on their use of prescribed MAT medications. Your access to Monarch Sober Homes will not be impacted by your use of MAT.

Information and Education:
Our staff are trained to provide information about the benefits and risks of MAT. While we do not directly dispense medication, we can discuss how MAT integrates with a comprehensive recovery plan.

Continued Access:
We ensure residents can continue to receive their preferred, clinically beneficial MAT medications while residing with us. We will not compel you to taper, discontinue, or change your prescribed MAT as a condition of your stay.

Effective Referral Process:
For residents requiring new MAT prescriptions or ongoing medical management, we have
established effective referral processes with qualified healthcare providers and clinics. This ensures you have access to the medical care necessary for your MAT.

Safe Medication Management:We implement clear policies for the safe storage and handling of all medications, including MAT, to prevent misuse or diversion. Residents are responsible for self-administering their medications, with our House Managers providing non-medical observation, reminders, and oversight of secured storage.
