The decision to go into a sober living house was not an easy one but walking into Monarch Santiago for the first time made that decision much easier. It is a beautiful home that is well furnished, kept and managed. Everything about Santiago makes you feel like this is a home more than a business. The support received and the friendships made will carry me as I continue to build a life as a sober man. I would like to give a special “thank you” to Brian (the House Manager) who supported me, both as a House Manager and friend.

I’m in LOVE with the Santiago Monarch house. It is a welcoming environment that feels like a big hotel. The people in the house are welcoming and are always willing and ready to work together as a group to offer support to a new resident. As the house manager I cannot say enough good things about the facility. I’m able to practice my own 12 step recovery work daily with the residents as I watch them walk through the experiences of early recovery. I’m able to offer support and a shared experience in an extremely safe environment. The neighborhood is also a benifits. A block away from the L Taraval and 19th ave the amount of Resturant’s and shops offers great resources for those without a car. I’ve got nothing but love for Monarch.

Monarch opened so many doors for me. Brian is a great house manager and so supportive, and James is dedicated and genuinely puts in effort to change so many lives. I am so fortunate to have found this place it’s clean, spacious, and comfortable. Truly a community of people who want to help each other grow.

Joe and James, the owners and live-in managers of the Monarch Homes, are caring and knowledgeable when it comes to helping others to get clean and sober. They provided me with a solid home base for 6 months while I worked hard to get traction in my recovery. Though I am married with a home of my own, I decided I needed the extra help of a sober living environment for awhile. The description of their homes on their website is absolutely accurate. I know from my own research and experience, there are no similar sober residences of this quality nor run with such integrity in the Sacramento area. I trust Joe, he helped me tremendously by providing encouragement and accountability within a safe and comfortable home. I saw the ways he extended himself to others in the home as well. I would return again if needed. If you are seriously committed to sobriety, this could be the supportive environment for you.

This is an incredible house to live in. Everything is brand new, it’s spacious, it’s cozy. It’s a BIG house. 3 floors, 3 kitchens, everyone has room to spread out and do their own thing. Will be staying here for a while!

I am so very grateful to Monarch Clean and Sober Living for the highest quality of service they provide their clients. Our son is truly finding his life again due to the respect, care and dignity provided by Monarch. The staff headed by James, go above and beyond even the highest standards because they are people of real integrity. . .something that is a rare commodity today. My deepest thanks to you all for supporting our son in his recovery.

Joe showed me so much love and helped my dad get me in and out of treatment centers. Found me in hotels to save my life and get me into detox and kept me alive to be living today. I love him and your child or parent will love him and feel loved. I was a hardcore addict and if you need actual care, his homes will provide that. -Kevin.

I lived at the Monarch sober living home in Carmichael for 9 months and would highly recommend it to anyone serious about staying sober long term. I have lived in multiple sober livings all over California and this was the best one by far. The house was very nice, clean and most importantly quiet, which was essential for my recovery. They kept true to testing for alcohol and substances randomly and frequently, having house meetings and encouraging you to work a program which is not the case at some of the other homes I’ve been at. The house is close to multiple shopping centers, restaurants, numerous AA/NA meetings and public transportation if needed, which helped me because my license was suspended for the first few months during my stay. I very much respected the house manager and the owners and was grateful that we had an open dialogue on during my stay about my recovery journey.

I’ve lived in one of the homes Monarch has in Carmichael for nearly two years and it’s been great, any issues and the house managers, owners and/or David, their manager for homes above the house manager level, are on it immediately and dealt with properly. They are a step above a lot of other sober living places in the area and I have never had a problem that wasn’t dealt with or being dealt with same day. The houses are furnished well, chores are kept up on the houses are kept clean. Basic supplies like soaps and cleaning supplies are included. I’ve met most of the house managers for the different houses here in the Sacramento area and they’re all great people who have been residents before they became house managers and have done well in their recovery. If you really want to get sober and nothing else has worked and you think you need that extra accountability and help, they’ve got everything you need in terms of recovery and support. Drug tests and breathalyzers are done randomly or if there’s suspicion someone is using. It’s a bit more each month than other places, but for VERY good reason, the quality of help and support on an individual level is felt, and the owners and management are there 24/7 if something needs attention, they take recovery seriously and don’t mess around when it comes to things that could hurt or affect others sobriety. I’ve seen a lot of people come through here and the ones who want to stay sober and put in the effort have done really well for themselves. Monarch as a whole is a great place to be, Joe and David are very serious about recovery and addiction and I genuinely dont think I’d still be sober and in good shape if I didnt come here when I did. If you can make it work and you know you need that level of accountability and support, Do it. You won’t regret it.

Monarch provides a safe, supportive, and clinically responsive environment. As a family member of a resident, I was nothing but impressed and comforted by each and every interaction with the Monarch team. Since I am located out of the area, their partnership and communication provided me with a tremendous amount of peace of mind. I knew I could count on them to closely monitor my family member’s care needs, and that they would keep me in the loop. The team went above and beyond time after time, which is unfortunately hard to find in other SLEs. If you’re looking for a good option for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend Monarch!

This place helped me turn a new page in my life. From the managers, to the owners, and to everyone I lived with; nothing but help and love from everybody. I think if you are genuinely looking to make a change in your life, Monarch is good place to start. It’s nice to be around people who believe in you and want the best for you.
