LGBTQIA Recovery

LGBTQIA IOP Program Framework

1 Group and Individual Counseling

Evidence-Based Group Therapy

Sessions utilize materials from the Matrix Model offered through the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

Integrated Modalities

Incorporation of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to address emotional regulation and thought patterns.

Psychoeducation

Focus on substance misuse education and developing a deeper understanding of personal triggers and responses.

Family Counseling

Engaging loved ones to foster a supportive environment and address relational dynamics.

Relapse Management

Early-stage relapse prevention strategies and healthy coping mechanisms.

2. Personal and Group Reflection

  • Over the course of 12 weeks, participants engage in a group process that promotes internal reflection on a personal level while examining the ripple effects of their behaviors on the group and community.
  • This period of self-awareness fosters insight into thought patterns, triggers, and emotional responses, leading to healthier decision-making and a deeper understanding of personal and collective well-being.

3. Addressing Emotional Dysregulation and Unresolved Feelings

  • Participants are guided in identifying and addressing deep-seated traumas, unmet needs, and unresolved emotions.
  • The safe, supportive group context allows for exploration of root causes of destructive behaviors, creating space for personal healing and growth.

4. Building Healthy Coping Strategies and Relationships

  • Tools and strategies are introduced to help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and foster stronger interpersonal relationships.
  • Emphasis on breaking cycles of destructive behavior to enhance personal and community well-being.

Program Objectives

  • Empower Personal Growth: Equip individuals with the tools to manage emotional challenges, address unresolved issues, and foster resilience.
